The recipient of our eight Good Deed is Alfie Glanville.
Alfie is 14 and has autism and loves to help charities. Every penny he has is spent on buying gifts for charities including the Moses basket project, Stowmarket food bank, Cambridge women’s aid, west Suffolk hospital children's ward and Ipswich children's ward, Chernobyl charity, Samaritans purse and the Salvation Army Christmas appeal. He has also raised money for hands at work in Africa and his autism Saturday club based in Stowmarket.
Abbie Panks, centre manager at arc said “as soon as we saw the nomination come in for Alfie we wanted to reward this amazing young man and his selfless fundraising efforts for so many charities in the community.
We spoke to Alfie’s mum Ruth who told us that his hobbies included Photography and reading so we have gifted him vouchers for Waterstones, Jessops and Debenhams, plus when Jessops found out about Alfie, they also gifted him a brand-new tripod for his camera
Ruth commented “Alfie was over the moon and very thankful. It was all very kind. We went to Waterstones and he got a book for himself and one for his brother but wants to spend the remainder on charity.....typical Alfie.”
Well done Alfie, you are a star!
