The event aims to get everyone in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas together to celebrate the community.
The focus of the day is on getting people to come along to find out more about their community and about how they can get involved in activities in the area.
Charter Square will play host to banquet table between 10am - 4pm where all guests are invited to sit and enjoy some delicious food and drink from the restaurants within arc shopping centre, all free of charge. The guests will also be given a Love Arc bag filled with great goodies.
The Great Get Together will be joined by BBC Radio Suffolk who be interviewing the guests about their charities and organisations which will be broadcast live on the Lesley Dolphin show.
Abbie Panks, centre manager at arc shopping centre said, ‘this is a great opportunity for people to come and find out more about their community and what is happening in the town and how they can get involved.
We will also be encouraging people to come and find out more about the different ways they can volunteer their time to support of great local causes in west Suffolk, there are loads of different types of roles available across a wide range of sectors so whether you have a spare hour or a whole day to support a group we would love you to come along , or if you just fancy joining us for a cup of tea and a chat, that’s fine too!”
