What to do when you can’t go to The Apex

DATE PUBLISHED: 14/05/2020

Who else is missing watching live performances at The Apex? We sure are! We miss it all: the shows, the gallery, the coffee and, of course, the friendly team! So, whilst we continue to wait for that glorious day when we can return, we thought we’d do our best to help you get your dose of theatre enjoyment, right from your home.

Thankfully, the National Theatre at Home is coming to all of our rescues, streaming pre-recorded performances of some of our favourite shows. We’ve compiled a list, so grab a pen and add these dates and times to your diary…

Inua Ellams’ Barber Shop Chronicles, May 14, 7pm

A Streetcar Named Desire, starring Gillian Anderson, May 21, 7pm

James Graham’s This House, May 28, 7pm

Coriolanus, starring Tom Hiddleston, June 4, 7pm

To watch, just head to their Youtube channel and enjoy!

And why not make that theatre experience extra special with a fantastic setting. We love this garden cinema idea that we saw online, and we think it would make for a perfect way to watch the National Theatre at Home.

What do you think?

Enjoy theatre-lovers, and don’t forget to send us your pictures of your home theatres!

P.S. Whilst you wait for the show to start, here’s 23 Wicked witches united for a special performance of “For Good”!
